Didn’t go to the prom. (No throw-back Thursday pic for me.) Not digging through the old albums. (Not gonna do it.) Spent the day at the pool. (Not posting a pic of me at the pool, either. No way. Not in my swimsuit. Not gonna do it.) Might post of picture of my eye tomorrow for Fr-eye-day, (but if I don’t feel like it, not gonna do it.) Also, no new taxes.
When you haven’t worked in years, an 8:30 walk, with the girls, is work. (yo, there are bird’s chirping. Lots of birds.)
Spent the last 3 or so weeks, working in the yard and cleaning the house for a party. Today,… I don’t have to do a damn thing. *Happy dance to the left… Happy dance to the right*
Enjoy your Monday, people! I’ll be at the pool. You know, doing NOTHING!
I could be at the U2 concert right now. But instead, I’m sitting here tumbling, eating cheesecake, cherry pie, and drinking a beer. Suck on it, Bono.
So this weekend was the Open House for ‘The Boy’ (BA) and ‘The Girl’ (MBA). It was a good time. We had good weather, okay food, white sangria, and a keg of beer with a broken tapper. (That really put a damper on Flip Cup and Beer Pong.) Thank God the yahoo’s, that hang around with my boy, keep an extra tap in their car. Keg of beer $80. Working tapper? Priceless....
The funeral was yesterday. Still feeling kindof blah. I’ll be back shortly. Have a great day, all you lovely people!!
When your brother calls and he’s helping his best-friend’s wife pick out a grave site, somehow other things just don’t seem very important.
I’ll just be over here, not complaining about anything.
This morning, my brother’s best friend, and our adoptive little brother, Shaye, lost his 20+ year battle with cancer. On Father’s day of all days, …he was the father of seven young beautiful children. I can’t tell you how sad I am. He is now in Heaven with my dad. Who, by the way, is going to love him as much as we did.
Good-bye dear friend. I love you.
In our neighborhood, there were tons of little kids in the four year old range. They were all my little brother’s friends. We called them the Rat Patrol. My dad had diabetes and would always have to carry small, hard, candies, in his pocket, in case he had an insulin attack. When he was outside, he would shake his pockets so you could hear the cellophane crinkle. The Rat Patrol would follow...
2 seconds into yard work, and I almost cut my finger off. Do I know how to get outa doing stuff, or what? (I’m okay. A bandaid, a little triple antibiotic ointment, a garden glove, and I’m good to go.) Welp, see ya later!!
I think in my former life, I worked in the cotton fields. I’ll just be outside trimming hedges alllll dayyy long. *soulful whistle*
Get ready Chicago! My bags are packed and I’m all ready to go see my beautiful daughter receive her MBA, from the University of Chicago, on Saturday. This is exciting!
He started off as my brother’s best friend, but he quickly earned a place in our hearts. He became one of us. He’s a part of our family, cause his real family is pretty much disfunctional. So he’s our little brother. He calls my mom, “mom” and she calls him “son”. He’s so easy to love. Such a great guy! And handsome too!!
I went to see him at the...
Woke up early and went for a 2 mile walk. OMG! Who am I?
Grillin chicken and baking potatoes for the softball team, cause I’m the hostess with the mostess. …Or else I’m just a dumb shit. I’ll let ya know when it’s over.
What's Better Than One Pool Party?
Two pool parties.
We started off with my brother, his two girls, and one of their friends. Girls giggle and scream when they’re in the water. That lasted for about 3 hours. I’m sure the neighbors were happy when they left. But we never make much noise, so they were due some payback for their dogs barking all the time.
Then came the night crew… ‘The Boy’s’ old...
About to go have another great day at the pool. Family, good friends, food, and a beverage or two or three… Appreciate the ones you have, people, you never know how long they will be here. Love you all!!!
I’m here, I just don’t have anything to say. Life is good.
Happy Take Your Mom To The Dentist Day! …Oh, is that just me?
